I had my ultrasound today. They said everything is healthy and perfect. But, they could not determine the sex of the baby because it was not fully formed. I am 19 weeks. I thought they would be able to tell at 19 weeks. Have any of you experienced this?

Yes I experienced this with my second child. I was 20 weeks and they told me that they couldn't tell either. They said that they would probably be able to tell at 21 weeks. So it was normal for me. Your doc. would tell you otherwise if it isn't normal or if he thinks something is wrong.

I was 19 weeks when my doctor told me the sex of my baby although he told me NOT to take it to heart. Because sometimes that early they CAN mistake then it would be the opposite. I had to wait till today which makes me 23 weeks and I found out 100% sure that I am having a boy!

I had my first at 17 weeks and they werent able to tell. My ob said she looked like a girl, but she was moving too much and they couldnt tell. Then at 21 weeks I was told she is a baby girl. Your baby i'm sure has it's parts the doctor just couldnt see them right now. In a few weeks they will be more visibal.

The doctor was probably just unsure of the sex because my now they should be able to tell. Sometimes the doctors don't want to say what it is because they really can't tell. Don't worry by now your baby should be fully formed unless you aren't as far along as they say you are!!

Better wait to be sure. I was told at 15 weeks I was having a boy and went back at 20 weeks and they said it was a girl. Not sure but check out babycenter.com and log in your info and it's awesome to answer all your questions.

Don't worry. Some babies are more shy than others and some may look one way one day ----and another way another day.

It happens all the time.

dont worry, usually doctors just dont like to say if its a boy or girl until they are sure.
