1/4 = 5/20

17/20-5/20 = (17-5)/20 = 12/20.

This fraction can be reduced as 12 and 20 both share 4 as common factors. Therefore 12/20 = 3/5.

(17/20*1/1)-(1/4*5/5)
17/20-5/20
