Oil will run out in probably a few decades .... I m sure we will acheive economic stability ...but world order will have lot of factors. And till the policies of the Developed nations is to "Gain even if it Pains(to other)" there can be no world order, the richer will get richer and resources will be in few hands.....and no world order.

Actually in India most people do not think of these things. They spend a lot of their time in day-to-day survival. At the strategic level people are aware of need for self dependency on oil being a crucial input for growth and development and are exploring, purchasing rights in foreign countries to minimize risk of oil being used as a weapon. Others believe that oil is just another commodity and it’s demand if it increases beyond availability will lead to alternate sources of energy. India has high coal reserves and could be utilized to produce oil. It is an expensive route, but still possible. Presently its imports are up to 70% of its needs and growing at nearly 10% per year. But besides thinking being slow, action taken is slower as switching to alternate sources is easier said than done.
