This song "She moved through the fair" is a poem by the renowned Irish poet, playwright, novelist, children’s author and folklorist, Padraic Colum.
Born in Longford, Ireland on 8th December 1881 he was one of the founders of the Abbey Theatre. He married in 1912, and in 1914 moved to America, and joined the New York literary circles.
His first book of verse, 'Wild Earth', appeared in 1907. New poems, including 'She Moved Through the Fair' appeared in an American edition of 'Wild Earth' (1916) .
