There is a great tea called "Throat Coat" that actually lubricates your throat and vocal chords. A lot of professional vocalists use this...
I always keep some on hand and even take it with me when I travel.
It is made by a company called Traditional Medicinals.

Gargle with salt water but really gargle and get it in the back of your throat. Lemon it has always been the best thing for me it feels good on your throat kinda burns but in a good way, just squeeze the lemon and let the drops go down your throat.

Cherries are good for sore throat pain. A tea with cherry would help too.
Check out the link below for more info.

OMG my oldest boys grandmother (who passed on in her 70's) told me this, it works and is so very basic!!
Hard candy! This is it. I find peppermint good. I asked her if this was true and she told me to try it.
I did and it hurt like heck at first then it went away! She said the throat gets dry and when your throat hurts who wants to swallow? She was so right!
Try it... If I do not have hard candy around I will drink tea.

I always gargle in peroxide, but you should ask your doctor first. It has saved me many doctor bills. Also the spray chlorseptic is good for a sore throat as is salt water.

Gargle with salt water,
Drink warm tea with honey.
STAY AWAY FROM DAIRY PRODUCTS, dairy products coat the throat and cause bacteria to grow.

Mix cayenne, garlic and honey together let it slide down your throat. It works but is nasty tasting.
