I know how you feel. When I was in college I was given a tonne of homework to do. I guess you should tell her that maybe she can lessen the load, but if your in high school don't expect any sympathy. They will just tell you to do it or get a zero.

You can't. Teachers no longer have time to teach properly during school hours because of all the touchy-feely psych programs and other government mandated things. My daughter's 5th grade teacher told me he was lucky to have 2 - 3 hrs of the day for actual teaching of basic subjects. If you are going to learn, you have to do the work. Simple as that. Life isn't fair for any of us. Sometimes you just have to suck it up.

I do believe teachers give more homework now than they did when I was a kid in school. But they used to actually be able to teach during the school day instead of cultural dances, self-esteem groups, etc.
