,.last time i looked i was still black but i don't ever remember having special treatment. if any thing i was mistreated for the color of my skin and not just me but my ancestor's. [yes i reached back in the past. [''so beat me''] i was fortunate enough to march for equal opportunity for black people and also was there when they closed our black school's down to go to white school's because we were not getting the same education or book's the whites was getting fortunate were out dated and torn even then as we entered those white school's we were still treated like we were on the ''for sale block''even the teacher's were black folk's hater's did everything they could to keep a black child from learning what was taught to the white children but we still survived and you say special treatment for Black's? they never got us any counseling for the mental torture we endured at these white school's

I think he/she might be talking about positive discrimination. How some universities may have quotas to fill. I studied in an acting school recently and positive discrimination was very obvious.
If black people are statistically under achievers, they shouldn't be granted special entry in a school only because of their color - the problem should be tackled at source - they should try to give them all equal opportunities from the start of their lives by improving schools in poorer areas, so that their entry to higher-education should be deserved and not simply based on their color.

By special treatment do you mean having on average a lower income than their white counterparts? Or do you mean being arrested 10 times more frequently than whites? Or do you mean generally owning less real property than whites? Or do you mean less educational opportunities?

Special treatment? Like getting "special treatment" from the police? Like getting "special treatment" when attempting to vote? Like getting "special treatment" of textbooks from the 1960s in our schools? Like the "special treatment" of being paid less for the same work? Please feel free to elaborate and be more specific.
