I'm 14 weeks and for some reason i'm afraid the baby will not have a heartbeat the next time we look for it. If your baby has died, does the sac still grow making it seem as though it's still going along? I think I read too much on the internet and that has put my mind thinking thoughts like this.....

No, you will still produce amniotic fluid if your body has not rejected the pregnancy yet, but your stomach only grows as the baby grows. It's normal to be scared, this is a very scary period, but it's also one full of joy and excitement and that's what you need to focus on, as hard as it may be. Quit reading everything you can find, you'll self diagnose yourself with everything under the sun! Good luck and try to relax.

I think that you are experiences something very common in pregnancy Doubt. A lot of women get it, I know I did. I would be so afraid to go to the doctor and have him tell me there is no baby. I am in my second pregnancy and have feared this with both, the only ressurance I every get is when the baby starts to kick and move around. Don't worry. And don't read everything you can it can put thoughts into your head. (I did that during my first I thought that I would have everything under the sun, but this time I am not looking in to everything and this pregnancy is going a lot smoother.)

I understand your worrying! i always get terrified before ultrasounds as im positive something is wrong and the baby will be dead. So far everything has always been ok. Im due to have my 18 week ultrasound in less than a week and once again im scared. If the baby has died your tummy will not grow and more but you may still look pregnant. If your not having symptoms that something is wrong then its unlikely you will know if anythings wrong. But dont worry Im sure you'll be ok. I always was.

Its normal to feel the way you do. Good luck.

No I don't think your stomach will still grow if your baby has died. But don't think negative thoughts. Just try and relax and stay calm. Try to think about all the positive stuff thats going to happen when you do have this baby. Don't stress yourself out over what you read on the internet.

I had a stillborn in 97 although I was 9 months along. I lost all the water around the baby. Although I do NOT think the sac does grow if the baby is dead. I KNOW your stomach does NOT grow anymore FOR SURE and I am for sure it is because the sac is NOT growing. Hun keep your head up DON'T think the worst.

No offense to the previous answer, but do NOT take a pregnancy test now. It is common for a woman (who is further along in her pregnancy) to have drops in the HCG hormone that determines a positive result in a pregnancy test. It does not mean that anything is wrong, its just the way your hormones adjust. I am also 14 weeks along, I too worry the same as you do, but DON'T. Your chances are 95% or better that you will have a successful pregnancy. You will find that once the baby starts moving, your worries will diminish. Please relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Take care.

No your stomach will not grow. Your stomach only grows when the baby does. Why would you think that the baby won't have a heartbeat? Did something happen? If nothing happened then you should be fine.

No. Your stomach only grows if the baby is growing. Try to relax. I wish you all the best and hope you have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Good luck.

If you take another over-the-counter pg test, and it comes back negative the baby has died. The only way I think your stomach will still grow is with infection.

Stop worrying so much, you are going to make yourself sick. Every new mom has lots of questions, hopes and fears. Don't let yours drive your nuts.

no it will not grow. sometimes it takes a little bit to hear the heartbeat because of so much fluid around baby.
