There are these girls in my Grade 11 Uni Prep English class, and they take notes on mostly what the teacher is says. They take notes as though they were already in College! About 4 people in the class of 30 do this. Are you supposed to be taking notes on the discussion, at Grade 11??

The girls in your class are probably doing better than the other students - notetaking is a great habit to develop early. They won't be overwhelmed in their first college lecture course as many students are because they'll have been taking notes for a couple years while the rest of you are just learning the skill. My advice would be to follow their example and start taking notes yourself.

Yes, note taking is imperative in college level classes. Notes help you remember key points addressed by your instructors. In college, your textbook alone seldom covers what's going to be on the exam. Just from taking good notes, I've aced through many classes without reading a single page from my textbook.

I used to do this in severe college and faculty (it would be sensible for me to start doing it returned). i found that when writing the notes down, I regularly did no longer ought to pass returned and seem at them--the potential of writing down the notes somewhat helped me memorize most of the stuff after one bypass. that's an astonishing analyzing technique for subjects that have a lot of information to memorize like history or a descriptive technological expertise. i don't comprehend sensible it would be for a topic like physics the place the key is understanding the thank you to *prepare* the advice (i.e., using equations to remedy problems).
