Solve for y to get it in y = mx + b form. Then the slope is m.
1) 2x - y = 14
Subtract 2x from both sides:
-y = 14 - 2x
Divide by -1:
y = 2x - 14
So the slope is 2.
2) 13 = 20x - 5y
Subtract 20x from both sides:
13 - 20x = -5y
Divide both sides by -5:
y = 4x - 13/-5

y=mx+b
where m is the slope. So...
2x-y=14
-y=-2x+14
y=2x+14
there for the slope is 2
13=20x-5y
13+5y=20x
5y=20x-13
y=4x-13/5
therefore the slope is 4

2x-y=14
-y= -2x + 14
y = 2x -14
slope is = 2
13= 20x-5y
5y= 12x - 13
y = 4x - 13/5
slope is = 4

there are many, i repeat many different and valid ways to solve these problems, the one that is the easiest is to put the equation into y=mx+b form and use m as the slope.
2x-y=14 (add y to each side)
2x=14+y (subract 14)
y=2x-14
so the slope of this line is 2
try to solve the next one on your own...
