11/w = 33/w +24

33/w-11/w = -24

22/w = -24

22/w * w = -24 * w

22= - 24w

22/-24 = w

w = - 0.92

I think that's right

You need to get the "w's" on the same side:

11/w - 33/w = 33/w + 24 - 33/w

-22/w = 24

Then you need to get rid of the "w" on the bottom:

w x -22/w = 24 x w

-22 = 24w

w = -.92 or w = -22/24 or -11/12

First multiply everything by w to get rid of the fractions:
11 = 33+24w

Now get known numbers on the same side:
-22=24w

Now divide -22/24:
-.9666666666667=w

You need to multiply both sides of the equation by w. Here is an example of what to do.

(18/m) - 7 = (32/m) , multiply both sides by m
m x [(18/m) - 7] = m x (32/m)
m x (18/m) - m x 7 = m x (32/m)
(18m/m) -7m = 32m/m

you can cancel the m in the first and last terms because m/m = 1, this leaves

18 - 7m = 32 , subtract 18 from both sides
18 - 18 - 7m = 32 - 18
-7m = 14 , divide both sides by -7
(-7m/-7) = 14/-7
m = -2

I hope this helps!

[11/w=33/w+24]*w
11=33+24w
24w=11-33
w= -22/24
w=-0.916667
