Hematuria
Take the child to a urologist as soon as possible.

The medical term is hematuria, and there are several things that can cause it. It can be caused by infection of the kidney or bladder, or injury from a blow to the kidneys or bladder. It can also be from an injury to the groin in a male. He needs to be seen in the ER immediately, as blood in the urine is not normal and needs to be treated. Once they have treated the problem and the boy heals, he will be just fine. He will go back to life as a normal, typical young boy and should have no problems because of the blood incident. If it is from an injury, they will try to determine what caused the injury and counsel you how to avoid it in the future. For instance, if it was from a kick to the crotch and he was horsing around, they will suggest he be more careful in future. They may even suggest an athletic supporter or cup for support and protection.
You should never see blood in the urine (unless you are a female on a menstrual cycle), so that indicates you have a problem and should seek medical assistance as soon as possible. Do not wait to see what happens or if it goes away. Go to the ER today, now.

That means the child needs to go to the doctor immediately. It's called hematuria, and it's a sign of something far more serious. The child could have kidney stones or it could be an infection. Take the child to the doctor.

I agree w/ everyone else. Either place a call to your doctor right away or take him to the ER/hospital clinic. Hematuria could signal a very bad infection of the bladder or kidneys.
Also, check his oral temperature.

hematuria.
needs a specialist exam I'm afraid. It can be urinary stones, infection, parasites (in tropics) kidney disease, some foreign object inserted in play/curiosity or even cancer- no way of telling without proper medical examination

Could be a bad bladder or urinary infection, or a ruptured blood vessel. I would take him back to a doctor.
