Given a line with slope m, a perpendicular line has slope -1/m, so the slope of the perpendicular line in this case is -1/5.

5 is the slope of this line, so -1/5 is the slope of the line perpendicular to it. The product of the slopes of the two perpendicular lines will always be -1. they are opposite reciprocals.

slope of this line=5
slope of perpindicular line=-(1/5)=-.2
