I need to be able to setup my laptop on 2 networks. One network uses static addresses, the other DHCP. Oh can I setup my laptop to be able to login to both with out to manually changing my network settings?

XP is designed specifically for this. On your network connection properties, under TCP/IP, configure the card to use automatic settings (from DHCP). Whenever it is connected to a DHCP-driven network, it will pick up the settings from the DHCP server. Then, under the "alternate configuration" tab, hard-code your other network settings. When you boot to a network that is not running DHCP, you won't get automatic IP settings and you will roll over to your alternate configuration, with your manual IP address scheme.
