The best thing about uniforms is you always know what you are wearing (you don't have to worry about what to choose) and you don't have to compete with other students about looking good or not. Not all students have money to buy beautiful, expensive, flashy clothes.

I hate them. I didn't use to have to wear them but now I do. There is no individuality. Even jewelery is all the same. If a person is a bully they are not going to stop because someone is wearing a uniform, they'll find something else to tease about (body, glasses, braces, etc.) I personally have never been teased about my clothes and neither have my friends and I never wear the "latest" fashion, I wear whatever I want to. They do not save time getting dressed for most people though people say it does but for a majority of kids in my old school it does not take forever to chose what you wear to school. Just pick what your wearing the night before if it takes you so long. Also they are very expensive. At my school there are summer and winter uniforms which you must buy at the school uniform store; and you need at least 2-3 dresses (summer) and blouses (winter) plus blazers, tunics, panama hats...not cheap.

The first two schools I went to were in Brazil and there we wear uniforms if it's either public or private. The shirts are white with a small stamp of the school's name on the top right hand corner and the shorts or shorts/skirts are navy blue. they're really nice! my schools were private and the uniforms were comfy and i liked having them. it's good that you don't have to choose what you're gonna wear, you just get your clothes in 5 seconds and change in a flash. But not having uniforms is good only because you get to show people how you dress and your personality throughout your clothes.
they're both fine.

I think they are a good thing. I would have loved to have uniforms in school. I would have never have had to worry about what I was going to wear to school that day. And also, kids can be mean if you don't have the best of the best brands of clothing. This would prevent a lot of unnecessary teasing.

I don't like school uniforms,I have 3 kids and I have to buy two sets of clothes for all of them.A set of uniforms then a set of regular clothes,They say it keeps kids from picking on one another, but it really doesn't.you can tell which clothes come from the malls and which comes from walmart.I really don't see the point in them.I also feel that it takes away the child's individuality.

Personally I think that all schools should go that route, because everyone would have the same clothes and there wouldn't be fights over shoes or pants, I just think it would make everything less of a competition at schools.

It's a good idea...some of the kids are going to school for a fashion show...if you are less fortunate you get picked on. because you don't have the nicer clothes...

I think they are a great idea. Cuts down on the wardrobe competition among the girls and the boys will look ever so much neater!
