In Mortal Kombat: Armaggedon, How do I keep my sword in Konquest? And how do I use a bow and arrow?

I keep seeing it on clips in the game it has never happened when i play.

I've noticed that during the Konquest you can only have a weapon at certain times then it gets taken away. I would assume that you use the bow and arrow the same way that Nightwolf does. Good luck!
