I think you should have your doctor check on your IUD. It may not be positioned correctly. If so, it might not protect you from pregnancy either. Your husband shouldn't be able to feel it if it is in correctly.

Ive had the problem and mine is positioned well so there are more possibilities.

Your hubby being well endowed
you having a short canal
or both

You can have your strings snipped a lil to avoid him feeling the strings or right before sex you can tuck them around your cervix

FOR THE POSTER with the ectopic pregnancy

IUD's don not prevent ectopic pregnancies the insert states that clearly if youve had an ectopic pregnancy before you are adviced to use a diffrent form of birth control. So basically you can sue for an ectopic pregnancy since the IUD doesnt prevent nor does it cause it

My ex told me the same thing when I had an IUD. I had the IUD for about 6 months and then I had an ectopic pregnancy - didn't know it though as I was still having my periods. New Year's Eve I ended up in the hospital and had emergency surgery the next day to remove and repair one of my tubes because my ectopic had ruptured. Almost killed me as I lost so much blood. Funny thing is that I went back to my doctor just before I apparently got pregnant and told him that I was concerned the IUD was not fitted properly as my boyfriend could feel the strings poking him. He looked and assured me that everything was fine and that I was just being paranoid. Should have sued the bastard!

I had an IUD and my husbund had no problums. if it is poking him it is not sitting correctly. I would go see your doc. The IUD should sit fairly high up inside the uterus.

If your husband is able to feel the string "poking" him, it needs to be cut. I'm sure your doctor told you how to check for the string, if it feels sharp or too long to you then he may have a legitimate complaint. If you're unsure, have your doctor check it..If all else fails you may want to try a different contraceptive method...
Good luck...

Ditto the previous commenter... if it is properly positioned, he shouldn't be able to feel anything that would poke him. I have heard of some men being able to feel the strings.
