i crack my fingers, neck, toes, wrists, knees, back, and ankles. i just read an article saying that its ok to crack your fingers and stuff and it said that cracking your fingers isnt bad for you at all but if you do it too much then it isnt good. well im kind of addicted to it and my fingers havent swelled up or been soar it actually makes then feel better. i just get stiff and cracking them helps. i know it doesnt lead to arthritis but i wasnt sure what it could lead to. if anyone knows anything about what could possibly happen, please help me. and if you think that ill get arthritis, please dont even bother telling me, i know it wont happen. thank you!

No, cracking your knuckles does not give you arthritis. Contrary to what your mom probably told you.

It is not entirely without effect, however. By stretching out the ligaments such you are loosening them. Clinical studies of "finger crackers" have shown weaker hand grips than of "non-crackers". If strength is those joints are not an issue to you then you can crack away happily; though I reccomend moderation in all things.

lol i crack my finger all the time too, it makes them feel better, ya people say it will lead to ike ur finger won't be able to move. That is what people say i asked my doctor because i crack my finger and ankles. and he said that it just moves ur bone but it won;t do anything. But for reasurence u can ask ur doctor but no worries really. i'm 15 and i have being cracking my finger for like 5-6 years and it doesn't do anything and if a doctor says it doesn't it it doesn't. Hope that helped.

the article u read is true. sure, u may not have any problems now but wait until u get older and cracking your fingers too much may lead to arthritis. i know its hard to control because i have the same problems but when u catch yourself doing that....stop and think about doing something that will get your mind off it.

Insted of cracking your whole body try streching. Cracking stuff is a habit, not anything bad though.
