Their philosophy is..
"Everyone, excluding us, should be willing to die for our country."
And

That's just more of the political "He said, he said" that's infiltrated the politics and government section of this website.
If the Republicans above did serve, then some of them would probably be dead or disabled and therefore not able to lead our country and represent their share of Americans.
Who said that you had to serve in the military to serve our country?
For America to continue as the ultimate social experiment the world will ever see, everyone in the country has to have their place, and no one should have to serve the country in more than 1 way to just to build their credibility or clout with Americans.

Wow...could you post a more one sided question? What about the list showing all the Republicans who DID serve or at the least, a matching list of Democrats who DIDN'T.
Last time I checked the illustrious Bill Clinton was a draft dodger.
Honestly, I don't think that military service necessarily makes a better politician. Just look at John Kerry or Bill Clinton.
Your question is irrelevant. Military service, except in the case of the draft, is a volunteer position that millions choose and millions don't. Statistically, less than 2% of our population is working in the Armed Forces to protect the other 98% (plus all of the illegals too). Fair? I don't think so, but that's how it is.

They were and are to scared to serve and second they had the right conections to dodge having to serve. I think THEY owe the military an apology for sending them into a war that they did not compose a battle plan for.

Dems serve because they're trying to increase the number of gays in the military by serving themselves.
Most Veterans know the people they served with were not Democrats, you can keep spinning all you want but you're only going to dig yourself a hole.

You have got to be kidding. For every Republican you listed you can name a Democratic counterpart, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosie, Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton,Dennis Kuchinach, and on and on. Get a source and the real breakdown of service from members of our congress and then come back and play.

Colin Powell was irate at the bush adminstration's (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice) decision to go to war because they don't know what to expect. They had no experience. He was right.
