There is a non-profit group, called National Novel Writing Month, at www.nanowrimo.org, that does nothing but encourage people to write a novel in the thirty days of November.
I have thought about it for the past year, and have started mine, and am on track, at least for the first day.
Are there any other participants on this site?

I attempted to join in just for the heck of it but their website is having some trouble. It's not a bad idea since the focus is on getting the story out in thirty days and not quality. For someone with writer's block (as I often have) it's helpful, because you can just get the story out without thinking about it so much and once the month is over you can go back and edit and critique it. You'll be suprised how creative you can become under pressure!

i am not participating, but i love to write! i am in the process of writing a book. i have 57 pages typed already. i jus need to finish it. a little writer's block i believe...
