I've seen plenty of gunplay in movies lately, but I want to know: What shootout do you think was the best/ your favorite?

Does shooting scenes from conflict video clips count selection? Saving inner maximum Ryan (it incredibly is why i wouldn't in any respect connect the armed forces) warmth Black Hawk Down Public Enemies (in all probability between the very few issues well worth on a similar time as on the subject of the action picture) BQ- Mr. and Mrs. Smith BQ2- The dark Knight by capacity of miles. BQ3- i'm unsure yet as quickly as I had to take out 2 it could have been Toy tale 3 and Black Swan.

the long ending scene in "the good the bad and the ugly" been mocked more than any other shot out scene. In a final shootout set in an enormous circular cemetery and composed of extreme close-ups of the three leads, Leone sends Eastwood's Man With No Name out on a properly operatic yet wry note. The "good" triumphs, but, in Leone's West, it's all relative. Greeted with critical disdain for its stylistic flourishes and sadism, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly became a hit, and Leone's artistic influence can be seen from Eastwood's directorial work to John Woo's action theatrics.

Has to be the shootout in Heat. I thought the best part about it was the sound effects in the shootout. It was not the "canned" gun shot effects you here in most movies. It sounded like a gun being shot in a downtown area with all the echoing off of the buildings. I was also a vey long shootout.

1) The final shoot out in "Unforgiven" with Clint Eastwood & Gene Hackman !!

2) The final shootout in "Pale Rider" with Clint Eastwood.

3) The shooting in "Predator" where Govenor Ventura is using the back-pack mini-gun... and literally turns it into a weed-wacker !!

Well there's a lot of good shootouts mentioned here, so I' going to do mine by genre:
Western--The Alamo>>(1960)J.Wayne(The Duke),{Davey Crockett}
Richard Widmark{Jim Bowie} Frankie Avalon{Smitty},Patrick Wayne{Capt. J.B. Bonham} (The Dukes real son.) I also agree with Amused One--The Shootist,as I was going to pick this one, but I guess I was too slow on the draw eh?Nobody beats J.Wayne for a good old fashion "shoot em up" western movie in my opinion.
Comedy--These are westerns too,( ha,ha,)--Support Your Local Sherriff(1969) & Support Your Local Gunfighter(1971) with James Garner, Sussanne Pleshette & Jack Elam[One of the most profilic cahracter actor in cinematic history & one of our favorite villian in western movies. Sadly we lost this versitile actor on Oct./22./2003. Now I guess he's ropin' & ridin' among the angels & his friends already there with him. REST WELL MY FRIEND, You're greatly missed by your fans down here, me for one, as watching you on the screen portraying a good guy or villian was awesome.] Harry Morgan, Walter Brennen & Joan Hackett. These are the main characters in one or the other & sometimes in both of these 2 western comedies.{They were really funny too.} AS we all know James Garner went on to become one of T.V.'s most beloved character as James Rockford in The Rockford Files.
Action/ Drama-- I would have to say Bruce Willis's Die Hard movies takes the shootouts hands down.{Yep, ki, i, ah.}
Good Bye for now--Enjoy a good shootout movie soon.R./CAT:**

Best shootout scene of all time was the final scene in John Wayne's "The Shootist"... there has never been a scene with so much suspense...so much tension... it's amazing.

I'd have to say the shoot out in Heat as well.
The move was decent, long and dragged in spots but, that scene woke me right up!
