That is an interesting query, but it raises a problem. Through the years I have debated with some knowledgeable theologians about the polytheism of Christianity and the monotheism of Judaism. The debates always ended in a stalemate.
However, many of the religions that are not Bible based have no problem with polytheism and their believers make up the majority of people on the planet.

Most everyone on this site will opt for monotheistic, but there is a lot to to say for polytheistic. First it is the most natural form of spirituality and is found in many societies not exposed to Western Culture. Most of the great ideas developed by the human race came from polytheistic people e.g. ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome. Polytheistic societies are much more tolerant of new gods, hey with many gods another one or two won't hurt the mix and they might be useful in a desperate situation and ancient societies often faced desperate situations. Yes in our culture the pagans get a bad rap, but maybe the harsh rap isn't deserved.

why would one be better than another, its your choice. mono is less taxing on the mind, however poly gives one more richness and color to ones belief system.
