A practical gift would be great. If she's not well off and gaining on years you can probably ask your fiance if there's any appliance that would help do house chores. Maybe a mocrowave or a dishwasher (a bit expensive and bulky though).
A nice set of victoria's secret lotion and body would probably do as well.
Don't forget to bring some tshirts and caps as well. Will do wonders for any male family members.
But if she's really in need of financial assistance, she might appreciate cash no matter how tacky and thoughtless that might appear to others. Ask your fiance, she would know best.
Also rember to say "mano po" (pronounced: mah-noh po). Say this while taking her right hand and lightly touching the backside of her handto you forehead. It is a Filipino greeting that shows respect for elderly people.

A lady always appreciates purses. Give her a Nine West bag or something like that which isn't really expensive if you buy during a sale at the department store or at TJ Maxx. I know she would love having something new to bring with her to church on Sundays or out on special occasions.

check the age on the package of the product if there is one. this is generally a guideline. let them write a letter to santa and see what they want. maybe you could ask and get ideas or take them to the stores and toy store and see what they like. you could also let them look through the jc penny toy catalog ahead of time. tried and true toys are the best choice. like a bicycle or soc-cor ball. toys that can be used over and over are most definitely the best choice as they help to keep children from being bored. even with small inexpensive toys it is better to go with interactive toys that can be used many times. examples are: yo yo's, marbles, or doodler's for drawing. frisbee's are great for older children around eleven and up.

When I moved here I brought my mother in law a scented soap and powder assortment from Victoria's secret. I brought a few ballcaps for the men in the family and some printed t shirts for the kids.

Try finding her a Philippine/American antique. Some thing of your wife's heritage and your own would be nice. Even if you can find two items that compliment each other from both cultures that will work. Good luck and congratulations!

A nice silk flower arrangement with americana colors would be very nice, elegant and thoughtful. I would even throw in a red rose and a bottle of wine. A man that treats a mother good, will show that you will treat her daughter just as good and ease her mind. Good luck and have a safe trip, hon! God Bless! (Asking such a question tells me that you are a respectable man, and will be welcomed into her family with ease!)

Oh, you better buy her a Christmas tree candle that plays Christmas carols once tighted. Also buy her Georgio Perfume and a pairs of Clarke beige and black walking shoes. But you need to request from your fiancee the sketch of your mother-in-laws' foot. Tell her to trace the foot and have it scanned and attach it via email.
MY ADVANCE BEST WISHES!!!!!!

Give her Olay.. something that makes her feel beautiful. And ooh, don't forget to "mano po" to elders in the family. Ask your wife-to- be for demonstration.

Not money! That is tacky. Ask your fiancee for an idea. She may be able to help you better than anyone else.
