There' different-crazy, and then there's out-of-touch.
After the Dysfunctional Family Picnic in the 1990's, we all figure dout we're all nuts in some way and "crazy" can be a term of endearment.
You know you've got problems if you just can't function.
But there is one set of standards that psychologists use to determine if a person is "in touch".
Does the person know what time of day, month, and year she is in?
Does the person dress appropriately for the weather?
Does the person have an accurate representation of his name and place in society (I am Joe Smith, I am a janitor, or I am George Washington, and I am in battle)?

You don't--not for sure, anyways. If a lot of well-meaning friends and family members have mentioned you might be, you may want to heed their advice as they are the first to notice the abnormal symptoms of a mental illness. It can be very tough for someone close to you to even bring it to your attention. The fact that they do, means they care and should be a warning sign for you. The next step is to take the initiative and go to a therapist for evaluation and medication. If you're afraid of being tagged with a mental illness, nobody needs to know you are receiving help for your condition. You can look up the symptoms of bi-polar, depression and schizophrenia on the net sites.

People who are are crazy would be the last one to think they were crazy. Crazy people don't know they are crazy.

If you are able to ask the question, chances are you are not. However, make an "actions-results" list about yourself and you will gain some insight into your situation.
