Is this a good or bad thing? Opinions?

I am having trouble finding websites talking about this. If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

As far as I can tell, it is a good thing. In some instances, a patient might need to be restrained in order for him not to hurt himself or others.

It doesn't seem to be a method of punishment. It is used to protect an individual, I believe.
