That's odd. It could just be that the kids' parents didn't know who lived at your house so they didn't let their kids stop. It could also be a problem with location. If you live in a bad or dark part of town or on the outskirts or something, your place could have just been out of the trick or treater's way.

Did you have your lights on? Thats another contributing factor.

Well there could be lots of reasons a lot of them are listed above, but our neighborhood didn't have my trick-or-treaters last night bc it was so cold. So maybe it has nothing to do with you and just the weather. Maybe next year you could volunteer at a sponsored event.

Many neighborhoods don’t allow it, restrict the hours, or they have it on the weekend before… A lot of parents have parties instead of letting the kids go out – I think its sad…
but like others said time have changed … Most people don’t even know their all their neighbors.. and Kids tend to be lazy and spoiled – they get treats every day so it’s no big deal.. like my neighborhood last night the kids had 2 hours for trick or treat and not one kid arrived after the first hour – they all had enough and went home… ha, I was a kid you’d have to drag me in after 2 hours! rain, or shine even snow - I was out there there!

I believe people are much more aware of the hazards of going around the houses they are not familiar with, with their young children. There are so many ill people that want to hurt small children by either putting something in the candy or, if the child is with just another child, how easy it is to kidnap them. Today's society is so different, even from a decade ago, and sadly, we all have to be on the alert.

A lot of families are taking their children to sponsored events nowadays rather than having their children go to peoples homes in inclement weather or risking a dangerous situation for their children

Depends on where you live. Or maybe the kids in neighborhood don't like you. Or if you gave out awful treats lasted year kids won't come back again this year.
