I dont think one could be hiding. Plus, you would heart 2 heart beats. But you never know I guess.

You should always make sure you have an OB ultrasound performed by a qualified sonographer at least once during your pregnancy. A person not adequately trained to do ultrasound can miss all kinds of things. But, twin cannot "hide" behind another baby on ultrasound. All u/s images are cross sectional, so nothing can hide. At 22 weeks, two fetal heads would be obvious.
I found this:
"In the past, up to 50% of twins were not discovered until the time of birth! This is because the physical signs of a twin pregnancy are not always very obvious, or they can be reasonably put down to something normally experienced by a woman having one baby. Even the most experienced obstetricians or midwives can miss a twin pregnancy.
In recent years, the widespread use of routine ultrasound during pregnancy has dramatically decreased the incidence of undiagnosed twins (but it is still possible!) "

Also, check out some images of a twin pregnancy and see yourself how easy it is to see.....

Although the chances are remote, I've personally seen two cases of women with twin pregnancies who were told that they were to have only one baby. I'm an OB/GYN Nurse Specialist with 5 years experience working in Labor and Delivery Room. One of them had two girls, but had been told she was pregnant with a single female fetus. The other one had a boy and a girl; she had been told that she was pregnant with a girl when a ultrasound was done at 20 weeks, and she had another one done at 35 weeks and was told that a boy was on the way this time, so she suspected that twins were coming. An experienced sonographist should be able to tell if a pregnancy is single or multiple; but medicine isn't a perfect science and mistakes do happen from time to time. Happily, all four babies were healthy and the deliveries uncomplicated, and in my opinion this is what matters most in the long run. But, for your peace of mind, request that another sonogram be done at a different medical facility (preferably, ask for a 3-D sonogram this time; the pictures are much clearer when this kind of machine is used). Best wishes, good luck, and I hope that my advise has been of help to you.

No, almost 100% of the time the ultrasound is correct. One baby cant hide behind the other and even if the twins were in two sacs - then two sacs would have been detected.
Also even if they cant see the baby they can nearly always pick out a second umbilical chord as twins need two different lifelines.
Im 32 wks pregnant and feel like im huge myself. There is also a big gap between the delivery dates that my doctor gave me and what the hospital ultrasound recorded. Im extremely confused myself as this is my first pregnancy. Have trust in your medical practitioners. Thats what they are trained to do.

My best friend had this happen. She was due the 1st part of Sept. but by mid-July her measurements were not right and the doctor became concerned she was getting too big. They had already done one ultrasound and saw only one baby. This time they saw one and the other was "hiding" behind it and they could only see a small part of the baby. They could not get it to move so they could check it. The doctor moved her due date up to mid-August and she had 2 healthy little girls.

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/JigMw
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

Very difficult if you have been monitored by your doctor on a monthly basis. Besides it is a good thing that you are big, it means you have a lot of amniotic fluid and the baby probably has a lot of space! Remember that the baby gains more and more weight as time goes by.
Good Luck!

I doubt that you could be carrying twins or else in the ultrasound, the doctor would of found two heartbeats.

My boss's daughter ended up having twins and no one knew until the day she delivered. The doctor went to deliver the afterbirth and out came the second baby! Anything is possible

If you were having twins, 2 heartbeats would have already been detected. You probably only have one baby! Congrats!
But yes, my girlfriend had twins and sometimes only one baby would be visible on the ultrasound, just to answer your question.
