My daughter is almost 11 months old(in 9days) and I still put her to sleep on her back. But she rolls on to her stomach and side when she is asleep. I would say about 6 months and up.When they are able to roll over on their own.

Never, No age is safe to let a baby sleep on their stomachs. Its just not worth the chance.

You know when your child is old enough to sleep on their stomach when they can lay on there stomach and be able to lift there head. Which usually is when they can roll from there back to there stomach.
I wouldn't put the baby on it's stomach until the baby is rolling around on the floor and chooses to sleep on its stomach by rolling onto it itself.

My babies both began to sleep on their stomach as early as 1 month--you can tell your baby can stay asleep unsupervised once you see him/her being able to raise his or her neck and turn from left to right so that his/her nose does not stay against the pillow or mattress--you can lay the baby on its stomach and watch baby use his strength to turn his head--it is really exciting to see baby doing this--you can let them sleep on their stomach as long as you are able to keep watch on them.

I think it's best to ask your pediatrician about it at your next checkup. Mine said to always put baby to sleep on her back, but not to worry if she rolls over on her own.

both my kids slept on their bellys since birth as were every child born before 1990! My kids were born able to hold there heads up. I never had any issues with them suffocating! So whenever your baby can turn their head from side to side.

When they can roll over by themselves, which is usually around 4 months. I would still put them on their back and they will roll to their tummy if they want to.

When they won't stay on their back--in other words, once they start rolling onto their tummy on their own, and you find them like that in the morning, don't stress about it.
