Remember the days when we were of for Christmas vacation (not winter break)? My son came home last year with color pages of a manorah (i know i mispelled that one) and pages representing kwanza. What happend to Baby Jesus in the manger??? Is this right? Shouldn't they do all religions or none? I'm deeply offended by this.....if it happens this year should I complain?

You should absolutely complain! And you are right, America is a country where we are free to serve the God we choose. We have just as many rights as any others and, Christmas has been celebrated in this country as a national holiday since long before the Civil War. If we are not allowed to celebrate the birth of our Savior and the traditions of our forefathers, then they better do away with all religious holidays along with George Washington's birthday, Martin Luther King's birthday, Memorial day, and, what the heck, New years day too and any other day.

I too am sick of it! I have a four year old going to school next year, and if that is how it is going to be, I am opting for home schooling or a private Christian school where we won't have to compromise our beliefs so as not to offend others. Jesus was so offensive to the people of His day that they crucified Him for it. Today, His name still holds the same power....people are afraid of it, because He is a light that shines into the heart of man and they don't like what is being revealed there, so , just like then, they want to kill the Light, but they can't, at least not in me or my family.

I hope you take a stand this year and God bless you!

I'm not sure...Im a student in High school right now, and I don't remember ever doing much with Jesus....I think that because discussing religion in schools is illegal, teachers feel that discussing a religion less common in the United States is allowed. This shows a marked ignorance on the part of the teachers, but if no parents ever bring this to their (or the principal) attention, then nothing ever gets changed.

1. People finally realize that not everyone celebrates Christmas. There are other holidays just as important.
2. Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, it is about African American heritage. The menorah is not that religiously significant either. Baby Jesus is however very religious. If my daughter came home with a picture of jesus..I would be upset.

You seem to have a problem with your child perhaps learning about other cultures. If you want it to be all about jesus then send him to a christian school that shuns all others like you do.

Because it's not politically correct...and I think it is ridiculous. They teach kids all about the other "holidays" and cultures, because they don't want anyone to be offended, and they need to be "open-minded". They want to "accept" and "tolerate" everyone, and yet they won't accept and tolerate Christmas and the beliefs and traditions that go along with that. It's just like in the stores last year...they didn't sell Christmas trees anymore, they were "holiday trees", and they couldn't tell people Merry Christmas because someone might be offended...it had to be Happy Holidays. It is just crazy anymore! People need to wake up and see what is happening. I think you should definitely complain...I know my husband and I would if we were in that situation (we are homeschooling this year). Good luck! More people need to take a stand like you.

Yes I would complain to your school board.
Yes... I agree with you all or none.
Political Correctness has gone too far.
The authorities are so afraid to offend anyone they forget that this is a christian country and since we do not complain they forget about us....
If the oldtimers do not complain the country is going to be taken over by the immigrants.
I feel the immigrants should learn to live by our rules in our country and if they are not willing to do that then they should stay in their own country where the rules are already set up the way they want things to be.

Darn them for being so politically correct...if they don't do anything with Baby Jesus, then I would definitely complain!! If they are going to include every other religion, then the one that started it all should be a no-brainer!!! Good luck!

Political Correctness. Absolutely, complain, take a stand. This PC foolishness is getting out of hand. Since America is predominately Christian it should be about CHRISTMAS only. Others can celebrate their religious beliefs among themselves. I make a big point of wearing my Santa Claus sweaters during the holidays that say MERRY CHRISTMAS.

People from other countries started this. It is not even required for all students to say the Pledge of Allegiance in the class room. I think that is sick! If you are going to teach some customs, then teach them all! Be fair. And if you are in America, speak English, and say our Pledge of Allegiance! If I went to another country, I would respect their culture.

Absolutely complain! If we continue to let the Politicians make a stand for us, we won't matter at all. The traditions we grew up with no longer matter and its so sad. I will experience that next year my son isn't in school yet - I'll stand up for what I believe in. Good Luck and God Bless!

Yes you should complain,..but keep in mind that most schools follow guidelines set for them by your state.. so it may do no good to complain.. but I surely would!

I agree that it should be all religions repesented or NONE...

Its seperation of church and state that is to blame for this and all the various groups who have pushed it to this.

Good Luck
