There are a couple of ways to go about this. Contact the county clerk in the county in Montana. Most lilely the file is close and is in archieves for for a fee they'll most likely make copies and mail it to you. You could do that and/or have an attorney track down this document. It might save you some money to do it yourself though. You probably still need to talk to an attorney because if you are concerned with your children in his care, then you need to get a court order not allowing him visitation or requiring supervised visitation.

Call the Clerk of Court in the County HE lives in. They should be able to help you. You should be able to get a copy by going to the court house & requesting a copy. Bring money because you will need purchase the copies. It's normally around a dollar a page... But you can ask the Clerk the details when you call. Some states have this type of information online.

The restraining order that she has will not do you any good. You need one of your own. At least that is the way it is done here where I am from. We can not get a restraining order from some one and use it our self even if it is on the same person. The reason for this is because on the papers their self it will not only list his name but also the name/names of the person/persons that he is to stay away from. But at the same time, I think that you can go to the court house and get a copy of the other one, just probably won't do you any good.

Were you worried in the 1st place or has this restraining order triggered a knee jerk reaction to prosecute him?
Has he been a bad father? Has he hurt his kids?
If not, then why bash him further.
Some females use restraining orders to get there way. That is an unjustice and they should go to jail for that.
Just make sure you have the 100% true facts before jumping to conclussions, and remember, there really is 2 sides to every story.
What is written on a restraining order is her side of the story. Did he show up in court to contest it? Or did she sneak it through the system with out him knowing and could not defend himself? Was a police report filed and what does that say? Who can verify the/her story?
And just because something may/or may not have happened between him and his current wife does not mean he is a bad/mean father.
this is a touchy subject for me. Cost me well over $40,000 , 3 lawyers, private investigator, etc etc.
i did not see my kids for over 6 years, private investigator found them. Truth is out but has cost me dearly in my heart and my pocket book.
Now one of them has chosen to live with me because he figured out what was going on and now he says he cant trust his mother. And i dont tell them anything, kids are very smart and will eventually figure things out.
To get what one wants usually hurts the kids the most.
