It was in reference to a colloquial expression used on a farm, and had nothing to do with anything of a sexual nature. Who finds the three-letter-A-word so offensive that he/she cannot get sleep or concentrate at work or lead a normal life after hearing it?

I think it's extremely petty!
But some people are hypersensitive. (And sometimes I think the Yahoo! Answers people may be so swamped they don't always really look at the object of the complaint.)
I don't know why that same three-letter word attached to "hole" is such a no-no in America. Personally, it's my favorite insult since it doesn't dis anyone's parents, is non-racist, non-sexist and doesn't touch on anyone religious beliefs. But there you go!
Next time I guess to be safe you'll just have to say donkey.

I find your question intriguing. For years, I have wondered why publications, like Sports Illustrated, use dashes and other punctuation along with a few key letters for certain offensive words, yet have no qualms about printing the use of God's name in vain (godammit). Their rationale is that as long as they use only lower case letters, it's OK. (Presumably, that implies reference to some other god.) I've written and gotten some truly unbelievable responses from their writers and editors.{This is an edit. I see that YAHOO! doesn't mind the lower case form either. Amazing how some things are rationalized and trivialized. I sincerely hope that my writing the word parenthetically above did not offend anyone.}

In point of fact, it is not petty. Your three-letter word does not mean donkey. It means a wild animal with such a foul disposition that it cannot be domesticated. It is also used with the prefix jack- to indicate the offspring of the mating of a horse and donkey. Comparison of a person's speech to the irritating braying of one of these animals has historically been a grievous insult, as has been the comparison of a person with one of them.

Other "colloquial" uses of the word are possibly even more vile.
