I didnt realixe that 30,000 a year was a lot of money, but some of you guys think so.......the reason that I didnt want to go tot school for a long time was because i have 4 kids (ages 6,5,4,and2) and my hubby only makes 28,000 a year. I just want to live COMFORTABLY and pay our bills.

Have you considered selling real estate or mortgage broker, there is not a lot of schooling needed for mortgage and the real estate class is 6 months. But there are also drawbacks, they are both commission only jobs.

College cost money and most kids need to get student loans. Many college graduates make a salary of about 25,000.00 to 35,000. with a Bachelors Degree. That's not much if you figure in your student loans. If you go on for a master's degree you spend more money and interest on your loans have been accruing all along already!
Unless you can get mom & Dad to pay your way or get a full scholarship you're stuck. You can do it but you'll be working more than one job! It seems like the middle class student will always be in debt!
Don't mean to paint such a dismal picture. I've taught for 35 years and have been in debt the whole time. Didn't finish paying my college loans until my 3rd child was born. Same with my hubby!
I probably would do it all over again cause for the most part I loved what I did. Making money and getting rich isn't everything in life!
If you have a skill you might want to consider a trade school instead of college. Plumbers, electricians, cosmetologists (hair and makeup etc.), carpenters all do very well financially! This kind of training is non academic and cost very little to obtain a certificate in the se areas. Seems unfair as most college graduates would say. It's not like these folks work any harder than a college graduate would. It's quite the opposite if you consider how difficult it is to get through any college curriculum.
when all is said and done just find something you are passionate about and go for it. You won't think about how little you're making as long as you are resourceful and love your job. Make enough to pay the bills.
Good luck:)

Sorry to be a drag, but what are you interested in? All the money in the world won't make a difference (OK, maybe a Little!) if you despise your job...the rest of your life is a long time. Do what you like, and the money will come if you are good at it, have passion, and a e willing to work hard.

It is according to what city, state you are in.
If you go to LPN school and live in a big city like Atlanta Georgia, you could make 30,000 a year.
School for LPN is average 10-14 months.
