The letdown feels like a tingly sensation all over the breast and the baby will take longer draws on the breast to get the yummy hind milk. Another nursing mom described it as "electric boob" like a faint electrical current going through the breast. The let down does not hurt and not every woman can feel the let down.

Some women don't ever feel their letdown but have no problems nursing. It's one of those things where "anything is normal."
To me, it felt like pins and needles, tingly. I didn't always feel it....it was most intense early on in the nursing relationship and faded after that.
You can also often notice that a warm, relaxed feeling comes over you.
The other side might start leaking when you let down too.
Can you describe the pains you get? Tingly? Stabbing? Dull ache? It could be a couple of different things.

no , I have not in any respect heard of that..it really is interesting although. The hormone secreted once you've a enable down is Oxytocin. Oxytocin motives contractions of the milk glands, which expresses milk into the milk ducts. some moms adventure a moderate tingling, pressure, discomfort or soreness throughout the time of letdown. even as others document not feeling something in any respect. Oxytocin in thoroughly unrelated to a hormone that would want to set off any thoughts...possibly you experience unhappy for yet an additional reason.

Not everyone feels their let down. For me I sometimes felt a tingly, trickle feeling when my baby started to nurse. Sometimes I still get that feeling when I hear a baby cry. But I am not lactating. I would not worry. I used to get pains too. But found that was from my nursing pads. Anytime I used a nursing pad that did not "breathe" I would get the shooting pains in my breasts. Try a cloth pad or non plastic backed pad.
