Bingo..the Iraq govenment is chosing to rely on militias and death squads to enforce their will. Maliki will be another Castro....Mark my words.

Jim from midwest-Maliki forced the US troops to give the death squads their guns back after the US troops found their cashe. Maliki has no intent to disarm them...ever.

That says it all.
The Shiite militias ARE in control of the government.

Good sign. Shiite militia use Sadr City as a training ground and Al Malaki knows that if he has any opportunity to gain ground as a viable Iraqi leader he and his Iraqi law enforcement community have to disarm them alone. He is attempting this. Like disarming gangs overnight it isn't going to be easy and it will be a long fight.

If it was easy we would have been rid of gangs in all of our major cities years ago.

I think the militia is now in charge. bush did not only not have a plan NOW the enemy is in charge!
