Will the computer recognize my previous downloads

this has happened to me twice.. first off your previous downloads will not be lost, itunes will have to be re installed so it will not recognise your palylists, you will have to put all your old songs onto your ipod and itunes again... if you are like me and have a billion songs in your library it will be a bit of a pain. my sugestion is to somehow back the songs onto a cd or something incase it happens again.... good luck!

If your question means that your Ipod is not working right now you should
(1) Try to reset it to factory settings using iTunes or the iPod Resetter (depending on model) or
(2) Have it sent in for repair.
Lucky you when (1) solves the problem. Apple can be a very tricky bunch of people when it comes to customer care, at least in Germany.

probably you will need to reinstall the software that came with it. good luck
