Look at it this way you are going to have to deal with more than fat if you have a baby. You can lose weight but a baby is 4 ever. The actual weight gain over a three year period after using the pill is only 8lbs that's only like 3lbs a year and if you exercise it's not even that. Good luck.

with some people it does, others it does not. I've been on the pill for 8 years and have had no problem with weight associated with the pill. As long as you stay active and live a healthy lifestyle, you should be fine. I can't guarantee you anything though. Weight problems are usually hereditary, so if there is a history of over-weight people in your family, you CAN do something about it for yourself. Stay Active. The weight gain associated with the pill just depends on how the pill overall effects you only. You can't base it on others experiences, only your own. Good Luck!

there are various kinds of pills, the one i am on is ok, i haven't put on any weight at all. the best thing to do is speak to your doctor to decide which pill is suited to you, then ask your doctor if that certain pill will make you gain any weight, every womans different so reacts to pills differently.
the 1st pill i went on didn't work right for me so i went back to the doctors and changed, try one and see how you go, if it's no good for any reason you can change.

it depends on your body, I was on the pill and never gained weight. But you could also try a different form of birth control, such as The Nuva Ring, or Depo shot. Talk to your doctor and find out what the best is for you.

Since being on the Pill I have gained 10 pounds. But I'm sure exercise would shift it.

Generally it is thought that you might put on a couple of pounds (2-3) but if you continue to eat sensibily you should be okay.
If it does increase your appetite, eat more fruit / veg etc. Snack on carrots etc and things.
Best to put on 2-3lbs then adding a stone or so by not taking sufficient precaution!!

Make sure that you get the one that is right for you. My GP told me that ideally I should get a blood test done to determine which one is the best for me. Now, I didn't have time (I was travelling), so I didn't do it and I the one I got made me put on weight. Do not self-medicate.

I didn't gain weight with mine, (Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo) It's different with every pill and every person. Just tell your Dr. and they should be able to find one that guarantees no weight gain. Good Luck girl

getting pregnant makes you fat. Which reason would you rather have for gaining wt. Besides, once your system stabilizes on the pill, you lose the wt, most of it is just water retention.
