Peyton is the best QB right now definitely. He is a great QB. People always want to include team success with individual attributes. Terry Bradshaw was a decent QB that happened to be on some great teams. Winning Super Bowls doesn't make you a great QB. Look at Big Ben, how great is he? Trent Dilfer? Brad Johnson? Mark Ripien?

"Redefined the position" Are you kidding me? Im 23 and even I know that you stick any number of great QBs in that Colts offense and yould have the same numbers that Manning has, maybe even better. You telling me with those weapons in indianapolis, that Dan Marino, Elway, Dan Fouts, Joe Namath, Brett Favre, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Johnny Unitas, even Peytons own father Archie Manning, wouldnt have put up the same numbers, if not better numbers than Peyton? Don't get me wrong, Peyton is a first ballot hall of famer, but there are atleast 10 qbs i can think of off the top of my head who in That indie Offense would be just as good or better. Peyton isnt even the purest thrower ever at the position.. Elway, Marino, Namath, Fouts... those guys were seemingly born to throw a football and could do sum amazing things throwing.. Peyton has a Cannon for an arm, but on occasion the ball WILLL be off target.. with those 4 i just named, that seemingly NEVER happened.

I'm a huge Colts fan but I'm still thinking that Manning needs at least a SB ring but I'd guess that if that happens, he'll be welcomed in that conversation. If Brady and him and similar defenses; I would guarantee that Manning would've had more success in the playoffs. People forget that Brady doesn't beat Manning; the Patriots D stops Manning. Any good 3-4 team with speed blitzers (Merriman, McGinest, Porter) will always beat the Colts if their offense is up to 'snuff. Tarik Glenn is a good LT while Ryan Diem is a respectable RT but they are easily beaten by speed. That's why Porter was amazing last year; the Steelers were just blowing Diem up!
Manning has one of the best minds ever, that will never be questioned. But I think that he may have a small mental bloc against the Pats.
So considering they won an SB, would you consider Doug Williams, Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer are better than Manning?

Manning is good, no doubt. Could he possibly become one of the best ever? Sure. Is he there yet? Absolutely not. The one thing that has cursed him so far in his career....he has [;ayed in several 'big games' and he seems to lose them....many playoff games, some other regular season games....the great ones take a game like that on their shoulders and find a way to win. Until Peyton can do that even once let alone several times like the great ones have, I wouldn't put him into even the top 10 Best Ever yet.

I wholeheartedly agree with you! I am from Indianapolis and I still can't believe we hit the jackpot by having Peyton Manning! Oh, and it's not a question of if he can win a Super Bowl it's when and how many, and his first will be this year! All he needs is one Super Bowl ring and he will be the greatest Quarterback ever in the history of football! The Colts WILL win this year and Peyton will forever go down in history as the greatest Quarterback ever! Go Colts! Peyton for season and Super Bowl MVP!

I think he has established himself as a fantastic passer and has many statistics that will put him in the upper echelon of all-time QBs. The only thing that will keep him out of sentences containing the names of Staubach, Montana, Young, Griese, Elway, Brady and Bradshaw is his lack of Super Bowl rings. One could say his high salary makes it hard for his GM to fit in other complementary players to help the TEAM win Super Bowlls. Tom Brady has taken smaller salaries to allow his team to have deeper talent around him.

Yes he has redefined the position but winning is all that matters.
Tom Brady is the best QB in the league...
He will go down in history as the best ever adn you can qote me,
but the colts have less of a shot to win because of defense.
so it is unfair to say that he just needs to win. sorry for being redundant.
but tom is also mobile.

When he gets a ring, then we'll talk. He's the second best QB without a ring of all time, behind Dan Marino. When he gets a ring, he'll surpass Dan and maybe I'll consider him to be the best ever after that.

sure he will. it really is through his psychological ability for the game. he's not the most athletic or "interesting" to computer screen. With the addition of the Brady bill...his possibilities of lasting many more effective seasons are extreme. he will proceed to set archives, win video games, and administration the game. he's the suitable quarterback and could go down in heritage as such.
