What is the recommended time between stopping birth control pills and trying to conceive. I want to make sure my body is in the best physical condition before my husband and I try. Thanks in advance!

No reason to wait. Your body was in fine condition—a hormonal simulation of pregnancy which prevented ovulation. Well, do wait until you get home and are in a private area.

I got pregnant with my first one while still on the pill, I had been on them for 8 years prior to that. With my second I was on the pill for 2.5 years after having baby number one when I got pregnant the first month off of the pill. We are currently trying for baby number 3. I had been on the pill for 3.5 years since I had my second child. I have been off of the pill for 6 weeks now and who knows. I am more than a little late but pregnancy tests say no. I think every women is different so it is a hard thing to estimate. Just relax, try right away if you want. Don't stress it too much. Keep track of your period and try to have lots of sex when you think you should be ovulating. Good luck, hopefully it won't take you too long.

I was on for 8 years and got off in February 2006 and we have been trying for the last 5 months and have had no luck. Luckily I have been getting regular periods but I just think that it takes time to get out of your system...

You can start right away, BUT it still may take a long time to conceive cuz you just stopped your pills! BUT everybody is different. But you are perfectly healthy to start anytime now!

i got off my bc in mid september and am now pregant, however im already having complications, i just got off my period 10/18 and had a pos preg test on the 27th, my doctor didnt say the reasons due to my complications.

so pretty much as long as you and your husband are both healthy id say as early as a couple weeks but i would definatly contact your obgyn to make sure there wont be any complications.

I say anytime... I was on the pill (for 5 yrs) and became preggo- I was actually on the last week of pills when I realized I was a week preggo! I had a very healthy baby- 9lbs 10oz, and the doctors said I was perfectly healthy myself. Goodluck! :)

I have a friend that got pregnant the week she got off the pills. Her baby is great and smart. No health problems. However, ask your doctor.
