whats happening to my psp it seems to be overheating?

the area in which my memory stick is inserted feels so hot i can't touch it, but everything else seems normal. and this has never happened before

Turn it off once in a while. Other than that it sounds like the fan isn't working. I don't exactly know about the internal makeup of a psp, but if it has the same components of a computer the fan not functioning is most likely.
