My sister is having these “issues” if you will. I swear she is a hypochondriac, there is always something wrong with her, and she never has a day where she is pain free. She says she gets these headaches all time and they are just excruciating. She goes to the doctors all the time and they just dope her up on pain medication. She was having abdominal pain and feeling nauseated, she thought she was pregnant, failed numerous pregnancy tests and a blood test came back negative, turns out she had PID. Now, she is complaining that she has a fever, the chills, shaky, and she is yet again complaining that she is feeling like she wants to vomit. She hardly can eat because it makes her sick to her stomach and certain smells make her ill too. Sometimes I think she is faking it because of issues with our Mom, like her way of dealing with it. But I don’t want to brush it off like it’s nothing, because what if it is something. What do you think?

Well, PID is very painful at times, and her symptoms are consistant with PID. There could of course be emotional components to what she is experiencing, but that doesn't make her symptoms any less serious. If she becomes dehydrated, or feverish she should be seen by a doctor.

I think when one someone close to you is telling you things like this - you should always give them the benefit of the doubt. If she is lying - she will eventually feel guilty and stop however - if you support her despite your concern she is not being truthful - you never have to feel guilty for thinking she was lying if she's actually seriously ill!!

if the Dr. says there's nothing seriously wrong with her, I wouldn't worry too much, just be there for her and try to relax her
