When does religon conflict with Politics?

When the Church tries to control the government, as in England before America was colonized.

Or when the government tries to control the church, as in the Soviet Union.

Agree with above. As the Constitution says, there cannot be government endorsement of a particular religion and they cannot impede the free practice thereof (unless of course there are other legitimate reasons a law is enacted and just happens to impede on the practice).

I do think that there is far too clear of a line drawn, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

I do think however, religion and politics can be a part of someones life. My religion emphasizes the importance of voting and being involved with government and community, and they also say it doesn't matter what party you align yourself with as long as it is in line with your personal beliefs.
