My fiance's name is EriK and his bestfriends/business partners name is known as Easy but his name is also Eric. They are starting a production and entertainment company. I was aksed to think of some names for the company. These two guys are a bit ghetto but they're still totally professional about their business so I can't use anything that has to do with hustlin', drugs, sex, or gang affiliation. So I came up with 'Be Eeasy Productions' my brain is having a lapse and I was just told to think of names last night so I haven't had much time. Would like to know if anyone has either heard of this name or if it's just not very entertaining. I'm taking any suggestions also.

The naming of the business could be one of the most important decisions you will make. A name's originality and legal availability will create a real asset value of its own, as it becomes marketed and gains market acceptance.

The name you choose will become the focal point of all the benefits and features that relate to your business. Customers will be able to find and refer others to it in the future.

I suggest either hiring a name creation firm or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" & have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research.

I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there.

Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I'd try them out first.

Comprehensive research consists of looking at marks that are similar in Sound, Appearance or Meaning in the pending & registered Federal AND State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files.

There are other sites that offer free searching capabilities in conjunction with their commercial services, so I'm not able to post those links due to the Yahoo! TOS. You'll also want to check domain names & yellow pages, so simply do a search for "free domain name search" and "national yellowpages" and the appropriate links will pop up.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Dreams don't come true - it takes years of very hard work, years of training and more years of getting unpaid experience. And even then, it won't be anything like your 'dream' - the reality is much harder, far less exciting and more often than not, a great disappointment. But if you are serious about wanting to act, you should start by reading every play you can get hold of, reading books, getting into a good acting school, going to a theatre club or stage group and learning everything you can. Nothing you are taught at school is a waste of time – you never know what is going to be really useful for you as an actor, and even stuff like history, geography, science, cooking, maths, etc, will probably come in handy when you least expect it. Actors need to be very intelligent, able to understand loads of subjects, well-read, for example able to read Shakespeare and so on. It’s no good reading a script if you can’t understand what your character and the others are talking about! Work hard at all your school subjects and get as many good grades as you can so you can get onto a college course in Drama or Performing Arts, with extras like Psychology, English, Sociology, etc. Get involved in a community theatre so you can put what you learn into practice. You will need to be able to work on stage as well as to camera. Singing is often required, so join a choir or try to afford lessons somehow. Dance is also useful. Only after years of training and getting loads of experience will any good agent be interested in signing you, and only through a good agent would you ever get any good auditions. It’s a good idea to have some other skill which you can use to earn money in between acting jobs – you’ll need it! Bar work, office work, shop work – that would do, but ideally train in some job you can work freelance so you’ll be able to take time off whenever you need to for auditions and the occasional paid acting job. Make sure you really enjoy it too, as you’ll spend more time doing than that acting! Most actors don’t get more than 2 or 3 weeks’ paid acting work a year. You are looking at years of hard work, very little glamour, terrible rates of pay – if any – doing odd jobs just to pay the bills while you’re auditioning for acting work. It’s not something you should even be considering unless you’re totally passionate about acting and can’t imagine doing anything else. You’ll probably never be famous, or make much money, but if it’s what you really want, go for it. If it’s just a nice idea because it sounds fun and exciting and so on, forget it. Good luck!
