I have been on alesse for a year, and i take my pill every day at 11pm, the other night i fell asleep and i took it at 12am instead because i fell asleep. This has only happened once for the year i have been on the pill. Will that effect me getting pregnant since i took the pill an hour later than i was supposed too?

No it won't.

Even with medications timed like every four hours, you have a two hour window in which to take it.

And for birth control pills.. once a day medications... an hour will have no adverse affects.

no but i would suggest you take it in the morning. what the pill does is makes your body think it's pregnant that's why you have to take it for a month before you have sex it has to get the hormones to a certain level. it's also the reason why the last 7 days are not a birth control pill so that your body has a period.
for more info on the pill go to this web site www.webmd.com don't worry you won't get pregnant for missing 1 hour.

No, you can even forget it by a whole day if you double up the next day and usually be just fine.

The only pill that is really sensitive to the hour is the mini pill, which is a progesterone-only pill (Alesse is estrogen and progesterone). These are less dependable anyway.

Not likely, my last girlfriend took birth control pills and was so bad at remembering to take them at the same time that I had to remind her sometimes and we never got a bun in the oven. I think you're fine but if you're uncomfortable it couldn't hurt waiting a couple of days before having sex without a condom.

I doubt it - but keep in mind that the pill is not 100% effective regardless of taking it at the exact same time every day.
My doc said that so long as you take it with in an hour or so of your regular time it shouldn't affect you any differently...as i have done the same thing on occasion.

No your fine. Now if you missed it for a day you would have to double up as they say. Take the pill from the day before and the one for that day but just to be safe on everything talk with your doctor.

I think it only matters if its a drastic time frame, like 12 hours or so. There should be enough in your system to hold it off for that hour.

No it won't because pills are in the bloodstream for at lease 48 hrs. one hour is not going to make a difference. one day yes, but not one hour.
