Katrina, It changed our country and I don't think New orleans will ever be the same. It's sad that so many people lost their lives, their families, their homes, their belongings.............The list goes on and on. I am from North Louisiana and was lucky that it didn't get bad where I am from, but I worked at a truckstop at the time and there were so many people at a loss as to what to do.My heart went out to all of those unfortunate people.I shed a few tears as I met some of them and heard their stories. So Yes, If I could have prevented it , I would have.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Then I realized that everything happens for a reason. Nothing is not for show. No matter how wrong it was, we learned form it. We learn from everything that happens. By changing something like that, we wouldn't know, learn, comprehend, and potentially become more vulnerable. No matter how wrong I believe some things are and how hard I would try to change those times, we learned. We are a learning and flawed society, but by changing something we just refuse to learn and make our society even more flawed. We can't fix every problem by wanting to turn back time. We can only reflect and take action to try and change things to make the world safer.

There are so many to choose from.

Probably the eruption of the volcano at Pompeii, but I can't say with certainty. This would be in my top five choices though.
