he was not when he stole so many song from African Americans back in the the civil rights day when the black man couldn't even get his music played on white radios Elvis and his manager would still these song from black radio stations and record them over on white america radio this is a true a story so you tell me how do that make him so great it don't .where i like Elvis he didn't discover rock & roll. i'm trying not to sound races but elvis is a idiol only to white america

I think it had a lot to do with the era. He had a style that was different and made people stop and listen. Eager for new things, the youth went crazy over him. People who have lived through that time and went ga-ga over him do not forget that rush of excitement that they felt when Elvis was THE thing.
