Emotionally, and mentally was it better? I am doing a study and need to have input about things like a nose reconstruction etc. Do you notice a personality change in you for good or bad?

I had no choice in the matter, I had to have Reconstructive and Plastic surgery my entire life. I was born with a cleft nasal. I had work on my eye, my cheek and my nose from the ages of 2-18. 9 operations total. If i didn't need it, I would never do it. It was extremely painful, both emotionally and physically. Long recovery, it takes a full year for all the excess fluid that builds up to be absorbed by the body. People stare at you with stitches in your face, make comments, kids are so mean. It made me a tough cookie and who I am today. I wouldn't recommend voluteering for it and for the life of me I cannot figure out why people do - it just baffles me!! So you can see I am normal like everyone else lol
