Abortion is the the termination of an event before it is completed. The event can be a pregnancy, car race, any activity etc
...95% of the world seem to only associated this word with the termination of an unwanted foetus

Abortion is the removal of the foetus (unborn baby) from the womb before it is able to survive on its own. There are different types of abortion and different methods can be used. Sometimes an abortion is involuntary e.g. a miscarriage. Abortion is a very ethical issue and is constantly debated. Some people feel that abortion should never be allowed because it is evil and involves killing but others believe that abortion should be allowed in some circumstances because for example if a woman was raped and she became pregnant than it would be the lesser of 2 evils for her to have an abortion otherwise she would have a constant reminder and she may end up resenting the child for the rest of her life.
Abortion is legal in the UK but before it was dangerous backstreet abortions took place which were very dangerous. Now a women can have an abortion if she is too young, has too many kids already, not anough money or if she could die if she had the baby etc.

I like Dr Laura's definition the best, "they suck a baby (while still in the mother's womb) into a sink" (they slice him/her up alive first (while still in the womb)
as someone else said on here, (I don't see it now),
basically it's where they kill a baby that is in the mother's womb. They go into the mother's body (usually through the birth canal), and then they cut the baby up into several pieces, and then use a vacuum cleaner to suck it out of her body (suck all the pieces out).
This is one method, they also have another method where they put a scalding solution into the womb that burns the baby alive.
( I copied that person's answer from this post, cause I thought it was so good, but I guess that person's views have been censored - I guess Yahoo believes in free speech if you're a weirdo, Nazi, or pervert, but if you don't like the killing of unborn babies and actually call it that, then you don't deserve free speech rights like anyone else. . ).

AN ABORTION IS WHEN SOMEONE IS PREGNANT & AT THE TIME THEY ARE NOT READY TO HAVE THE BABY SO THEY GO THROUGH A PROCEDURE THAT THEY REMOVE THE BABY SO U ARE NOT PREGNANT NO MORE!!

The killing of a human being that is being developed in the uterus.
Sometimes you will hear people say that it is ok for abortion to take place. People who think this way are just ignorant... don't listen to them.
The human being is developed inside of a woman's uterus. It is 100% completely a human being. It is just not fully developed yet.
For someone to terminate this completely helpless human being is murder.

Whatever you do, don't listen to Wayne. He's a liar and is trying to scare you. That is one of the cruelest, nastiest answers I've ever seen on this forum and it's been reported.
Abortions are done either with suction, or by dilatation and curettage (D&C)

It is a CHOICE WOMEN HAVE about their OWN BODIES!!!
RIGHT OR WRONG...GROSS (like the first dumb answer) or NOT...if your not ready to have baby in your life and wish to terminate the pregnancy there are procedures that can be done to help you make YOUR OWN CHOICE!
