there is this one girl that I love dearly I have gotten close to her, but last night she told me she might be pregnant because awhile back a guy used her for fun and giggles and she stoped takeing her birth control, so at the moment shes waiting for her period witch should happen sometimes this week, if she doesnt have it does that mean shes pregnant? she want to have the kid but sadly she is only 16 , but because she doesnt believe in abortion and doesnt want to put the kid up for adoption she decides to keep it , now she had sex with this guy for less then a week, dont know how long , is it possible that she can be pregnant? and another thing she cant afford this kid worth a damn.

Hey, there is a chance she could be pregnant. The best thing for you to do is wait. If she does not get her period then you need to get her to take a preg. test. If she is preg. she should really decide if she can afford this child. I dont believe in abortion either, but If I was in a situation where I could not afford to feed this child, let alone clothe this child, I dont think i could bring a child into this world, or raise a child, if I am going to do it poorly. You have to tell her to think about this childs life. I am 23 with 2 children, I was 19 when I had my first, and trust me, its hard!!! You have to let her know she has her whole life ahead of her, and if she even gave the baby up for adoption, the baby would most likely have a better life. I am a social worker and I have seen some pretty rough stuff. Babies not getting fed because moms have been kicked from social assistance, and babies that have died from neglect. I am NOT saying that she would neglect her baby, but if she cant afford the baby "worth a damn" your gonna have to have a serious talk to her about her decisions and priorities at the moment. And she is also going to have to talk to the father of this baby. If he is not going to be in the picture then it is going to be really difficult, I was just lucky my baby daddy stayed in the picture and in our lives.

Sure she can be. It only takes exactly one, count it one time of relations to become pregnate. She's made one mistake, but she shouldn't compound the problem by making another by aborting the poor baby. After all the baby didn't ask to be conceived. It should at least have a chance at life. However, it might be best if she gave the child up for adoption since she is so young, not married, and not rich.
If she does have great parents, which could go either way being she let herself be used by a shallow relationship, perhaps they'd step in and help her if they can.
As for you be careful not to cause yourself any trouble. After all your probably young too. And I know your capable of love, but your not financially secure either, are you. So wait for marriage before getting intimate young man.

Its a big possiblity that she could be pregnant, it only takes 1 time.
Also, if she canttake care of the kid then she needs to get a job now and save up and finish high school. I know first hand that abortion is a horrible thing and that its wrong in Gods eyes but if you cant provide for the child adequately, then someone who can needs to it can even be a relative. She really needs to think about it., and it could be that she is just stressed and that could be causing her menustral cycle to be bumped back.

If she misses her period, then she could be pregnant. Best thing for her to do is to take a pregnancy test after she has missed her period. Then she will have to take things from there. You sound like a very concerned friend and she's going to need your emotional support during this time. Most 16 y/o's don't seem to understand how hard it is to raise a baby on their own. Hopefully she will have a good, supportive family who can help her through.

Its her choice to have the baby no matter what the circumstances. So dont be telling her she cant afford it , etc..Its her baby. We cant tell if she is pregnant or not. Its possible, since she did have sex, but I dont know if she was ovulating during that time. So then yeah its possible, but let her make up her own mind about keeping the child or putting it up for adoption. She is right in not believing in abortion.

A woman can get pregnant from one sperm, so it is possible that if she had unprotected sex, she is pregnant.
If she misses her period (it is late by more than a week to ten days) she should most definitely get a Home Pregnancy Test from the drugstore and test herself. They are easy and quite accurate.
As to whether she keeps it or not, that is up to her. In America, we don't force women to have abortions or give their children up for adoption just because they're young, poor, and/or stupid.
