If you were the smartest person on Earth, then what would you invent and why?

Wow! Amighty's response was awesome. For myself I would invent a wisdom machine. It would be able to teach anybody the ability to think, while considering any and all factors, and help them to make the best decisions, not only for themselves, but for their children, parents, friends, neighbors, to the people who look up to you and who even look down at you. This would help people to give up selfish endeavors and promote the creation of better people, who would work to have a more sensible popultaion, and would spend their time improving themselves and the area around them rather than worrying so much about popular culture! With a few less people, more environmentally sound policies, more freedom and better judgement, the world could be a really great place to live!

I would make a reasoning and explenation machine that couldn't be rigged. What it would do would be to receive audible messages and the such from any person talking. It would flawlesly take the fluctuations in that persons voice and determine the context from which that persons statement(s) were made. With the analysis would be the DEP or the Displayed Emotion Percentage which would show in a numeric value where the person stood with his statement. Love%, Contempt%, Anger%, Hostility%, Lust%, Fear%, Confusion%, THIS guy Has No Idea What he's Talking About%, Joy%, Sadness%, Hope%, and Doubt%. So then after a brief 2 second analysis, the reason/explenation would come out on the screen and it can even be printed! example would be if I said,"That fool is crazy!" The machine would break it down to, "Due to his laughter, the man speaking this has just mentioned that the person he is talking about is funny and just an all around goof ball...but he likes him. The reason he said it was because that is his best friend who he had known since he was five years old and they can talk to one another that way. Love-100% Hostility-0%

I wouldn't invent. I would take all of the lottery money that is wasted on so called 'art projects' (i'm not anti art in any way but hate pretend art and the funding they get), I would turn the current space that is the ex millenium dome, turn it into 20 operating theatres and concertntrate on hip replacements, other bone operations, millions of minor surgeries waiting to be done that may not change the face of the NHS but would hugely reduce their waiting list for people in every day pain and discmfort with a less than 1 hour operation. We could turn this country around with very little effort or real thought and care.

I'd invent a device that revealed when we were lying - because almost all other evil men do requires at least some lying. Conversely, if no one could lie, then most of us would be shamed out of any temptations to do bad behaviors, and those who did would quickly be caught. It sounds a bit frightening, but it would be a MUCH more peaceful world.

I would change as little as possible within the world myself. I would give myself the ability to be several people at once, initially 3, eventually more. We (me) would have the ability to travel by thought alone to different parts of the world, or anywhere in space. We would have an eternity to meet all the wonderful people in the world, and to gradually enable their lives to be far more rewarding than any of us could imagine. But I wouldn't be doing it, I would be just one clog (though several people) and each of you would use your own unique talents to improve the experience of life.

if i had all the resources then i could invent anything, just cause u're smart doesn't mean u're rich, but i would invent a machine to help kill cancer!! any form!!
