I have a sport bike, and I can tell you, they're EXPENSIVE! Stay away from them - especially at your height. Go with Yamaha Star bikes, maybe an M109R (very cool) or a V-Max.

Definitely Dual Sports. I had a 2000 Kawasaki KLR 250 which was $75 a year for 100/300 full coverage. Traded it for a 2007 KLR 650 and my yearly rate is only $194. NOTHING else by category is cheaper. Plus, these are the swiss army knife of motorcycles.

All motorcycle insurance is fairly cheap in my opinion, don't let that determine what you ride.
